No Rain....please!

I am hoping to get my butt to the Farmer's Market on the square this weekend, for the first time ever!  I know I've lived in Madison for about 4 years now, what can I say, I don't get out much;-)  So let there be fair skies this Saturday.

Hats off to you Gaylord.....

Nelson's first attempt at setting up a day to honor the planet was in the early 1960's when he was Governor of Wisconsin. The main concerns at the time were conservation and overpopulation. Nelson's wanted to call attention to spread the ideas of the-now-called "Zero Population Growth," an organization trying to curb global growth population through increased access to reproductive health services and supplies. He preached his case, but it wasn't until he got the ear of Attorney General Robert Kennedy that the flame was lit. Kennedy got his brother, President John F., to do a nationwide tour discussing conservation.

And of course he went on to start Earth Day as we know it....not all about cleaning up the refuse you think is it?  Kurt and I have done our part then...who cares if we use some paper plates here and there;-)

Some Randoms

So this week Kurt and I bought $5 worth of lottery numbers for the $254 million jackpot.  We spent the rest of the night figuring out what we were going to do with all our winnings and decided on building this house, on a large beautiful lot near Mt Horeb.  We made plans to travel after we quit our jobs, and spend all day working on our hobbies.  It all seemed like destiny, but unfortuntly we only got one number out of all one's listed on our ticket.  We can only hope that soon our luck will change.

Also Kurt and I visited the fam in Canada a couple weeks ago, it was a fun and exciting trip to say the least.  We found out Kurt's brother and sister are expecting another baby, after they got into a 54 car pile-up!  I finally got to see Bradley again, my last visit was over a year ago.  He is such a smart and happy kid, and Kurt and I started missing him 20 minutes after we left.  (Thanks for the pic Terry, I have it on my work computer - it makes me smile everytime I see it.)

So on a side note, if you didn't watch the Olympic ceremonies you need to get K.D. Lang's 2010 version of "Hallelujah", it gives me shivers when I listen to it....or maybe I'm just cold;-)
